44 applicants to Local Police officers start the Academy today (01/06/2020)

Martínez-Oliva.It must be remembered that to these 44 aspiring agents, 64 positions are added, of which selection processes are currently being carried out, and another 16 for mobility that come from other municipalities such as Cieza, Alhama, Yecla, Jumilla or Beniel.The 44 applicants who start the Academy today will complete 8 months of training with a theoretical and a practical phase.The theoretical phase, which has started today, will be carried out due to the current situation and for the first time in history, online, studying subjects such as criminal law, scientific police, procedural law, drafting of documents, traffic regulations, toxicology.

..As of August 17, applicants will begin the practical phase, with subjects such as police driving, self-defense, shooting ...And, finally, from November 1 until February 7, they will carry out the training on the staff, carrying out police services with veteran officers.Councilor Eduardo Martínez-Oliva, explained that "with this Academy period we seek that these candidates for Local Police receive the best training and know how to act accurately in each circumstance."New Barracks in Espinardo and increase in the mobile fleetThe City Council is constantly working to increase the staff, facilities and resources of the Local PoliceThe Governing Board last Friday approved the project and specifications to contract the adaptation works of a premises for the creation of a new Local Police Barracks in Espinardo.This new space that will increase security in the hamlet and improve the care that the Murcia Local Police has been providing to its neighbors, will be located on Calle Mayor number 56 and will offer modern facilities adapted to the multiple procedures that are carried out out daily.It should be remembered that at the Governing Board on May 22, the hiring of 9 new vehicles was approved, while at the April 29 meeting, the acquisition of the first two electric motorcycles from the Local Police for the Ecological Patrol was approved.In addition, last March 13 new mobile units for agents were presented: 8 motorcycles, 4 vans and a truck, which were added to the existing ones, reaching 282 units.In 2016, 2 SUVs, 13 passenger cars, a mobile radar car for speed controls and 5 motorcycles were added to the fleet.

In 2017, 7 SUVs were added to increase the police presence in the countryside and mountain areas of the districts.

Last fall the Murcia Local Police included two drones in its equipment to monitor areas of difficult access, devices that can reach up to 72 km / h and ascend to a height of 6,000 meters.
