The ACUDE association will manage the municipal forest estates of La Tercia, Los Santiagos and Los Rosales (01/06/2020)

| The Department of Sustainable Development and Huerta signs an agreement to improve the environmental management of these places, working on the flora and fauna and making plans for promotion of biodiversity | The ACUDE association will be in charge of the management of the municipal forest estates of La Tercia, Los Santiagos and Los Rosales.

The Governing Board approved at its last meeting a collaboration agreement with this entity at the proposal of the Department of Sustainable Development and Huerta.The signed agreement involves an investment worth 12,000 euros for this year 2020.

The objective pursued by the Government Team with this agreement is to improve environmental management within the forest farms in charge of it.The agreement signed with ACUDE will allow the carrying out of agri-environmental actions that will allow the conservation of the biodiversity that the farms have.

The hedges on the terraces will be expanded on the margins.

Rainfed cereals will also be planted and carob trees will be recovered.New signage and educational and agricultural activitiesThe farms will release signs to locate the elements they have and the technicians will correct the erosive processes of the soil.

Wildlife monitoring will also be carried out and various educational and agricultural activities will be organized.

ACUDE will also be in charge of making an inventory of the flora and fauna that these forest farms have.This measure is part of the environmental project that the Murcia City Council has been developing since recent years.

It pursues the implementation of measures that contribute to reducing the emission of polluting gases into the atmosphere and improving the environment.The City Council and ACUDE will establish a basis for carrying out projects, activities and experiences in the area of ??land stewardship and environmental conservation through sustainable development.Free way to incorporate more landThe City Council undertakes the commitment to actively participate in the economic, social and cultural revitalization of forest farms.

It also reserves the power to incorporate, by mutual agreement with ACUDE, more territories to this agreement, either through new land acquisitions or by any other means.For its part, ACUDE will carry out an inventory of the environmental assets existing on the farms, such as flora and fauna.

It will also draw up plans to promote biodiversity, campaigns to promote protected areas, workshops and workshops.Environmental education and outreach programsLikewise, the association will promote environmental education and dissemination programs of the farm's natural values.

Likewise, it must monitor and report to the City Council any incident that occurs in forest farms.The agreement includes the call of a monitoring commission in which an evaluation of the actions carried out will be made.

In this body, the City Council will be represented by the Councilor for Sustainable Development, Antonio Navarro; and ACUDE, by two representatives.The largest custody network in the territory of SpainACUDE is a non-profit organization that has created the largest custody network in the territory of Spain in the Iberian southeast, consisting of 400 farms, covering an area of ??9,000 hectares.

Among its main purposes is the conservation of cultural, natural and landscape values.
