Gymnasts from the Gymnos 85, Cronos and Spiralia clubs resume training next week (26/05/2020)

The councilor for Sports and Health has met with the president of the Gymnastics Federation to agree on the return to activity of the national category athletes in the Puente Tocinos, Javalí Nuevo, Espinardo, La Alberca and Príncipe de Asturias pavilions.The Murcia City Council promotes the improvement of citizens' quality of life by investing in safe sports infrastructures and promoting healthy programs.

 In this sense, the consistory, through the Department of Sports and Health, works on the reopening of its sports spaces, attending to all security measures and in accordance with the conditions established by the Central Government.The head of the area, Felipe Coello, met this morning with the president of the Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation of the Region of Murcia, Mº Ángeles Díaz de Figueroa and Díaz, to agree for next week the return to training for his fifty most prominent federated and national category gymnasts.“Our sports facilities are places of daily transit, which must guarantee maximum safety to users.

So we have started by opening municipal spaces to professional athletes and, little by little, we continue to take measures to do so to other citizens as well, ”explains the mayor.Specifically, gymnasts from the Gymnos 85, Cronos and Spiralia clubs will resume their activity in the different municipal pavilions, such as Puente Tocinos, Javalí Nuevo, Espinardo, La Alberca and Príncipe de Asturias.The facilities will follow a cleaning and disinfection protocol to prevent contagion with qualified personnel who will be responsible for carrying out these tasks after the use of the spaces.

Hydroalcohol dispensers will be placed in common areas, changing rooms, tracks, gym and auxiliary track.Reopening of municipal facilitiesThe José Barnés, Javalí Viejo-La Ñora and Sangonera la Seca sports centers have already opened their tennis courts to the public and the Monte Romero Stadium has begun to operate with the athletics track for federated athletes, those of high level (DAN) and high performance (DAR).Specifically, the José Barnés has five tracks available for use: three for federated athletes and two for other users.

On weekends they are available to all the public who want to practice tennis in the five available spaces.

The rest of the sports centers have a track enabled.The Palacio de los Deportes also opened its doors yesterday for the ElPozo Fútbol Sala training sessions facing the final phase for the league title to be held in the city of Malaga.
