The PSOE defends mixed formulas that combine telematic and face-to-face work so that municipal staff can reconcile (25/05/2020)

| Socialist councilor Enrique Lorca also plans to restructure municipal services to provide more staff, on a provisional and voluntary basis, with those who are most lacking | As a result of the pandemic that has forced the establishment of telework and after the gradual return to normality that will require a greater effort from certain municipal services, the Municipal Socialist Group considers it necessary to implement mixed formulas that combine telematic and face-to-face work to the staff of the Murcia City Council so that it can also favor the reconciliation of family and work life now that day and educational centers are closed. In a motion, which he will defend in plenary next Thursday, socialist councilor Enrique Lorca explains that, "due to the new normality with which we are going to live together in the coming months, it will be difficult to adapt to a situation in which we must take security measures to protect ourselves and those around us, but we must also have the presence of our elders or our school-age children at home, especially since the forecasts for the beginning of the academic year 2020/2021 are confusing, with what which is essential to promote initiatives that allow the reconciliation of the workers.

" In addition, he points out that public administrations must be exemplary in relation to their staff, so it is necessary to look for mixed formulas that combine face-to-face work and telework in those positions in which there is the possibility of carrying it out. Likewise, in another motion, Lorca advocates providing, on a provisional and solidary basis, those municipal services that are most in need of personnel due to their importance in managing the COVID-19 crisis, which "is evidencing the need for effective public institutions to protect lives and to provide livelihoods for people.

" Specifically, it refers to areas such as social services, employment, markets or housing of the Murcia City Council, which "need or are going to need an extraordinary and provisional reinforcement of personnel due to the fact that their workload has increased or will increase more than considerable.

" In this regard, he considers it necessary to carry out an exhaustive and objective study of the extraordinary and provisional needs of personnel that each City Council service will have.

"Once the services with the most deficiencies have been detected, a list should be made with the list of positions and try to fill them provisionally through the option of voluntary mobility." For both proposals, the socialist councilor asks the Plenary to convene the Negotiating Table so that it is in this body where the measures related to the Consistory staff are debated and decided "in order to be prepared for the new reality that leaves us the pandemic.
