Pérez: "It is intolerable and inhumane that Serrano makes citizens choose between starvation or paying taxes" (18/05/2020)

| The PP spokeswoman has regretted that the leader of the municipal socialists "is doing populist demagogy in the purest Venezuelan style with such a theme sensitive as is the drop in tax burden "| The spokesperson for the Municipal People's Group, Rebeca Pérez, has stated that "it is intolerable and inhumane that José Antonio Serrano makes citizens choose between starving or paying taxes." The PP councilor regretted that the PSOE spokesman "makes populist demagoguery in the purest Venezuelan style with a subject as sensitive as the drop in fiscal pressure." Likewise, he has asserted that "he did not expect Serrano to represent the PSOE with the typical moral supremacy of the left to justify his lack of support for the tax measures that have come out ahead in the Municipal Plenum held today and that they will be a ball oxygen for 4,325 merchants, hoteliers and small entrepreneurs.

" In his opinion, Mr.

Serrano "has shown that he is absent from municipal management and does not have any capacity or initiative to provide important solutions." For Pérez, "it is sad and regrettable that the socialists have once again demonstrated that they do not have sufficient scope to put themselves in the place of those who are having the worst and only engage in confrontation without providing solutions." The management of the health crisis caused by the expansion of the coronavirus has had an economic impact on the municipal coffers worth 54 million euros.

"Despite this, due to responsibility and seriousness, today we have approved a series of fiscal measures that will detract 2.5 million from the forecast income that the Government Team had planned for the current year of 2020," said Pérez. The PP councilor has criticized that "how can Serrano say that the fiscal measures that we have approved are insufficient when they include all those that they proposed in his party.

We have expanded them because the PSOE, from the outset, fell short." Likewise, Pérez recalled that the Governor of the Bank of Spain, Pablo Hernández de Cos, has pointed out that fiscal policy "must be in the first line of defense to mitigate the effects of the crisis on household incomes." In addition, the governor described as "insufficient" the economic response that European countries, including Spain, are giving to the coronavirus crisis.

For this reason, it has recommended Mr.

Serrano to "better assess the deficiencies of his own party before beginning to give the rest unsubstantiated lessons." Along the same lines, the popular spokesperson has asked the leader of the Socialists in the City Council to "refrain from criticizing others when his party is directly responsible for a chaotic management that has caused 27,650 families to have to fire their loved ones in the distance.

" Rebeca Pérez has valued the response that all the workers of the Murcian Consistory are giving to the health crisis, "with the attention of 1,500 calls a day to articulate actions and meet the demands of citizens and with the processing of more than one hundred daily aid to supporting the most vulnerable people, who are always our priority.

" The PP spokeswoman has pondered "the speed of response and organizational capacity that the Government Team has shown in organizing and implementing social and economic measures." In this sense, he reminded José Antonio Serrano that in municipalities where his party governs, such as Seville, "the delay in the approval of aid and fiscal measures has led to a limit situation for merchants and small businessmen."
