| The Department of Urban Development, through the Parks and Gardens Service, increases this activity due to high temperatures and the progressive application of the Descaling Plan | The Murcia City Council, through the Department of Urban Development and Administration Modernization, led by José Guillén, has increased the frequency of lawn mowing due to the increase in temperatures and the progressive application of the Plan of Descaling by Covid -19.“We have approximately more than 700,000 square meters of grass meadows and it is just now, when they come out of their lethargy or hibernation, when it is necessary to carry out a greater activity of care by the different professionals of the parks and gardens throughout the municipality of Murcia ”, explains José Guillén.Some thirty people, distributed in ten work teams, from the company STV-Actúa, are in charge of these tasks throughout the different green areas of Murcia and districts.Beautified and enabled trails for sports"The purpose of this action, in addition to beautifying green spaces, is that Murcians who begin to leave their homes, according to the Plan of Descaling of the central Government, can enjoy green spaces that are suitable for the practice of activities such as walk or run on the trails that have been duly enabled for these practices, "highlights the mayor.The tasks are carried out with state-of-the-art machinery, such as the 0-turn mowers and recyclers, brush cutters and lawn mowers, which allow the meadows to look green and suitable.The predominant variety of grass in the different green spaces in the municipality of Murcia is the 'Pennisetum clandestinum' (kikuyu), which now benefits from the fertilizer tasks that have been carried out months ago by the Park and Garden Service.
