Aguas de Murcia modernizes the sanitation network of the San Ginés Industrial Estate (18/05/2020)

| The works are carried out on Saavedra Fajardo street applying the novel 'trenchless technology' | The councilor for Sustainable Development and Huerta, Antonio Navarro, visited this morning the works that Aguas de Murcia is carrying out in the sanitation network of Calle Saavedra Fajardo in the West Industrial Estate of the district of San Ginés.The objective is to improve the basic sewerage service to these roads and to rehabilitate 22 manholes.The work is carried out with the 'trenchless technology', thanks to which pipes are replaced or installed without the need to cut off pedestrian or road traffic, or break urban paving.

"This is a cutting-edge technique at the service of citizens and their environment," said Navarro.Among the advantages of this technique are savings in the execution time of the work, respect for the environment, minimizing inconvenience to the citizen, reduction of construction costs, as well as an improvement in the level of security.The investment in these works amounts to 274,605.76 euros.The Action Plan assumes the creation of 1,500 jobsThe action is part of the Aguas de Murcia 2015-2020 Action Plan, which is endowed with a total of 32 million euros, of which 70% of the works have been carried out or are in progress, representing an investment of 21 million euros.This Plan supposes the creation of 1,500 direct jobs and includes a total of 63 projects.

62% of the actions correspond to works to improve sanitation and the remaining 38% go to works in the supply network.
