| Murcia can deposit special waste at the usual locations and times | The Councilor for Sustainable Mobility and Youth, Rebeca Pérez, has visited the Puente Tocinos ecopoint today, which, like the rest of those in the municipality, returns to serve today, after its closure on March 16.During the four hours it has been open, nearly fifty people have deposited their special waste.In this way, the ecopoints will keep in the same locations and times as before the declaration of the alarm status but with strict security measures.Following the sanitary indications, it is remembered that these ecopoints should not be used when in doubt of being infected or having had contact with the virus.
In addition, the use of a mask and gloves is recommended to deposit the corresponding residues, residues that must be properly separated, and the safety distance must be kept.Rebeca Pérez, head of the Street Cleaning and Waste Management Services, explained that "once the de-escalation has begun, the conditions are given for the resumption of the activity of ecopoints, highlighting that they will be opened to the public strictly complying with the guidelines of security and measures to protect both its users and staff.
""We reopened the ecopoints so that citizens can move the waste that has been accumulating in homes during this stage of confinement," said Pérez.The waste that can be taken to these clean points are vegetable and mineral oil, clothing and footwear (it is recommended to deposit them in a closed bag), alkaline, saline and button batteries, batteries, toner and ink cartridges for printers, fluorescent bulbs and low consumption, x-rays, paints, solvents and containers with the remains of these residues.
