The City Council guarantees safe attention to the public with the installation of protective partitions in its services (05/05/2020)

| José Ballesta supervised the operation of the Statistics service, in which the first units have been enabled | The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the councilor for Urban Development and Administration Modernization, José Guillén, has supervised this morning the Statistics service, in which protective screens have been enabled, which will allow isolating the worker from the user that requires be attended when the attendance is opened. This is one of the measures launched by the City Council to deal with de-escalation, with the aim of guaranteeing the safety of municipal workers and users, and to resume the level of efficiency that existed prior to the health crisis."The City Council is taking all the necessary measures to guarantee public health, with the aim that, when the time comes for the opening of municipal services that require attention to the citizen, the procedures and consultations between the public employee and users are carried out safely and effectively, "said José Ballesta.Specifically, the Statistics citizen service unit has 9 jobs, in which the first protective partitions have been installed.

During the next few weeks they will be enabled in municipal services that require attention to the public.Up to 1.80 metersThe installed partitions have a height of 1.80 meters, wrap around the worker's table and have a slot that will allow the documentation to be delivered to the user or official.

They did not have to be screwed or fixed to the floor, since they have a fastening system to the work table itself, so they will not leave marks when its removal is decided. Its design guarantees total isolation of the employee position, not only from the desk area, but from all the space around it, since the partitions start from the ground.

The final height, 1.80 meters, is designed so that the citizen's mouth is never above the screen at any time - if their physical height does not exceed 2.10 meters. It is foreseen that when phase 4 begins, the public will be attended directly, making use of the protective partitions and all the necessary measures to avoid crowds.

The attention in each job will be carried out with a single user, so that if accompanied, the companion must be left out.Currently, the citizen service posts of the Statistics service are located at a distance of at least 2 meters between each one, and it is planned to install mobile partitions in a complementary way to ensure that said distance will always be maintained.New operating protocol to guarantee securityBefore the state of alarm, more than 450 people passed through the facilities of this service every day, among users who needed to be attended to and their companions.

Currently, staff assigned to direct citizen service positions are teleworking, attending to families by telephone and email.Appointments are managed through prior appointment, on the page https://www.murcia.es/web/portal/cita-previa-del-servicio-de-estadistica-aviso or by calling 968 35 86 00 and the extension 56789.Once the City Council opens the direct customer service offices, a face-to-face care protocol adapted to the health crisis will be carried out.

Initially, it would be compensated with an extension of the hours of attention to the public during the month of June, until reaching the normal levels of attention that had been provided before the health crisis.

The extension of hours would be done gradually as it materializes due to the greater or lesser saturation of the previous appointment. All the measures will be announced in the coming weeks and will be adopted in coordination with the Security and Hygiene of the City Council and will be complemented with the use of sanitary material, such as hydrogels, gloves, masks.13 teleworkers and 7 face-to-face employeesThe Statistics service has 20 officials, of whom 13 are teleworking and 7 carry out the tasks in person through rotating three-day shifts.

The areas in which they are divided are administration, customer service and notifications. In addition, the notification tasks are carried out by 56 career officials from different services, who will return to work when the City Council decides to resume the activity of notifications –currently no service is sending notifications– or at the time the status is lifted.
