The municipal plenary session approved the majority of motions unanimously to continue improving social care during the COVID-19 crisis (30/04/2020)

| Among the texts agreed upon by all political groups, the expansion of the staff of social workers and the implementation of the free telephone number 010 | The municipal plenary session held today has approved the majority of motions presented with the agreement of all political groups in order to continue improving social care during the COVID-19 crisis.Thus, regarding the decrease in the ratios of attention to the public of the Social Work units, it has been agreed to urge the Governing Board to expand the staff of social workers dedicated to primary care in order to lower the ratios.

Likewise, the necessary measures will be promoted for the maintenance of the professional staff of the municipal social services and their progressive increase: 12 new social workers and 14 professionals who finished their contracts in the coming months will be incorporated, will maintain their employment with new projects related to COVID-19.Regarding the universalization of telecare, the Governing Board will also be urged to take the necessary steps to gradually universalize the telecare service for all people over 75 years of age who live in the municipality, being able to lower the age of access in case it is considered adequate.

The same municipal body will also be urged to put in place, as a matter of urgency, the necessary mechanisms for the elaboration and start-up of the plan to share the loneliness of the elderly in the municipality of Murcia.The Plenary has also agreed by majority the motion in which the extension of the dining room scholarship is requested at weekends and holidays.On the other hand, the urgent convocation of the municipality's Local Trade Council has been unanimously approved, by the safest means, in order to know the needs and the necessary measures that merchants may raise, integrating these measures within of a Social Recovery Plan of the Municipality and thus be able to return to normality as soon as possible.Likewise, it has been unanimously approved to urge the government team to proceed to assume the cost of the calls made to the municipal information phone 010, making it free for all citizens of the municipality, both during the duration of the social emergency derived from the Covid19 as after it, and permanently.In addition, the telephone number 900222900 (hitherto dedicated to telephone procedures) will be enabled to also attend social emergency calls until 010 can start operating for free, and a campaign will be carried out to publicize this situation.
