The University of Murcia approves its second contingency plans before COVID-19 and modifies the exam schedules (29/04/2020)

Likewise, the institution's governing body, meeting via videoconference, has also approved the modifications to the examination schedules of the June and July exams that have been adapted to the new circumstances of non-contact teaching. Along these lines, the Governing Council has commissioned the Vice-Rector's Office for Quality, Culture and Communication to carry out a general evaluation study of the operation of this teaching that will serve as a reference for future approaches to online teaching.

Once the second version of these contingency plans was approved, it has been announced that several vice-chancellors are starting now to prepare a third version intended, fundamentally, for planning the teaching activity of the first semester of the 2020-21 academic year, period in which will take into account the 'bimodal' teaching model, proposed by the Ministry of Universities. On the other hand, the Governing Council has approved the modification of the academic calendar for the next academic year.

This modification assumes that the teaching activity will begin on September 28 and not on September 7, as planned.

This change is motivated by the need to hold the EBAU extraordinary test in September, so the admission and enrollment schedules are also delayed.

Among the collaboration agreements signed with other institutions, the voluntary one between the UMU and the Spanish Red Cross regional committee and the one signed with the Ministry of the Presidency and the Treasury to promote collaboration between the Regional Statistics Center and the research groups of University.The vice-rector for Research and Internationalization has presented to the Governing Council the adaptation of teaching in the Language Service to non-face-to-face teaching.
