The Civil Guard detains two people for the removal of a mare (28/04/2020)

| They moved along trails and crossed underpasses under the Northwest Highway to move the animal without being seen | They selected the animal for its high economic value, more than 5,000 euros The mare has been recovered and returned to its rightful owner The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, within the framework of the 'Plan against robbery in agricultural and livestock farms', has developed the operation 'JUMENT' to clarify the theft of a mare of great economic value that occurred in an equine farm in the municipality de Mula, which has resulted in the arrest of two people as alleged perpetrators of theft crime.

The investigation has culminated in the location, recovery and return of the animal to its rightful owner. The operation began when the owner of an equine establishment in Mula reported to the Civil Guard the abduction of a 9-year-old mare, valued at 5,000 euros. From that moment, specialists from the ROCA Teams (against robbery in the field) began the investigation, gathering all the necessary evidence and examining the farm, as well as the access roads to it. Civil guards detected that the transfer of the mare occurred through sidewalks and trails, also doing it through underpasses under the Northwest Highway. The Civil Guard, in collaboration with local police officers from the municipalities of Albudeite and Campos del Río, established a first line of investigation focused on finding out the identity of people related to the equine world who had the necessary knowledge to select the animal , move it and keep it hidden in some kind of stable. Thanks to citizen collaboration, the Benemérita learned that two young people, residents of Albudeite and Campos del Río, could be behind the theft of the animal that, since its abduction, had supposedly been relocated to different places to avoid its location. According to the investigation, the suspects took advantage of the absence of the person in charge and owner of the farm to steal the animal, knowing that it is of high economic value. Recently, the investigation has culminated in the location of the mare on an urban plot in the municipality of Campos del Río, where they kept her hidden with the alleged intention of selling her to a third person. The action has ended with the arrest of two men, 19 and 26 years old, of Spanish nationality and residents of Campos del Río and Albudeite as alleged perpetrators of theft crime. The recovered mare has been returned to its rightful owner. The arrested, the equine and the proceedings investigated have been made available to the Investigating Court number 2 of Mula (Murcia).
