From the Executive Commission of the Trade Union Section of We are Trade Unionists in the Murcia City Council with representation in the Staff Board, we go to the Media to make the invisible visible in order to solve a situation that we regret, as we have already stated before the Mayor. We do not share and have warned of the violation of procedures and irregularities in the management of Occupational Risks in the Murcia City Council; without response or corrective action.

This lack of institutional loyalty can not only affect the safety and health of employees of the Murcia City Council, but also the rest of the municipality's population, including vulnerable personnel in danger of death from the Covid pandemic19. The ignorance that is generated by not convening the corresponding body in matters of Health and Safety (Health and Safety Committee) seems to us to be an accumulation of irresponsibilities that have been denounced on several occasions before the City Council and the Government Delegation; also unanswered.

This has already reached a brazenness that has made us ask for the determination of responsibilities before Mayor Ballesta, upon learning of the ostensible worsening of the conditions of the Local Police against a possible contagion.

And we have known him through the information sheet of another union section and demonstrations on social networks of some of the alleged assistants. Said meeting took place, according to said information sheet, last Thursday, April 23.

Topics related to the Coronavirus were discussed with the Headquarters and the Department, issues that affect the safety and health of local police officers were defined.

We do not know reports from the Occupational Risk Prevention Service (and we should know it).

The Safety and Health Committee, which includes the delegate for the prevention of occupational risks Juan María Manzano and the delegate of this union section, are not informed. Leaving the Safety and Health of the Local Police to a meeting of friends is irresponsible, added to the contempt of the body in charge and the legally established procedures.

I disregard the safety and health of local police officers, which is not an isolated event; At this time there is a complaint to the Labor Inspection for events that caused serious damage to a local police officer, as in that case none of the recommendations emanating from the Occupational Health Service and the Occupational Risk Prevention Service were issued, up to two times. In Local Police, the established shifts were 7 days working and 14 days homebound (with the intention of keeping the minimum days established to monitor possible infections).

Before the children go for a walk, new instructions are given and the 14 days become 7.

All without having addressed any type of solution to the practice of covid testing19 for essential services personnel or alternative confinement accommodation.
