The City Council supports Cáritas in the opening of the Galilea Commissary to guarantee the supply of more than 2,000 families (21/04/2020)

Debido al aumento de la demanda por la crisis sanitaria, Cáritas y el Ayuntamiento han puesto en marcha este economato de carácter urgente, que complementa la red de Cáritas parroquiales del municipio y la batería de ayudas sociales que presta el Ayuntamiento de Murcia a las familias más vulnerables.En concreto, el municipio cuenta con 62 Cáritas parroquiales desde donde se atiende y acompaña a las personas en situación o riesgo de exclusión social, y una Cáritas territorial desde donde se ofrece un apoyo más especializado e intenso en procesos de promoción –herramientas que permiten a las personas salir de su situación de exclusión por sus propios medios, llevando a cabo actividades de ocio y tiempo libre saludable, cursos de formación, búsqueda de empleo, intermediación laboral, etc.El Ayuntamiento intensifica la atención social un 48%El Ayuntamiento de Murcia intensifica la atención social, que se dispara un 48% durante el estado de alarma.

El Consistorio ha atendido a 5.064 personas por vía telefónica durante el periodo de confinamiento.Servicios Sociales ha realizado 3.449 intervenciones, lo que supone un 33,55% más que en el mismo periodo del año pasado.

La atención a las familias también se ha intensificado, alcanzando las 3.270 y un incremento del 33,55%.

Toda la atención telefónica está centralizada en el número 010, al que deben dirigirse las familias para realizar sus consultas.
