The City Council begins the citizen consultation to diagnose the Municipal Strategy of Circular Economy (19/04/2020)

| Murcians have until May 16 to participate in the questionnaire available on the website www.participaentransparencia.es, the web tu.murcia.es/ app / and the mobile application itself | The City Council, through the Department of Urban Agenda and Open Government, led by Mercedes Bernabé, begins the citizen consultation to diagnose the development of the Circular Economy strategy for the municipality of Murcia. Thus, until May 16, citizens who wish to do so can participate in a survey available through three channels: the Murcia City Council page, through the 'Participate in Transparency' portal; through the web 'Your Murcia', in the section of your opinion; or in the application of 'Your Murcia'.Likewise, in parallel, a consultation process on the same issue begins with the City Social Council, a body for citizen participation made up of representatives of the most representative economic, social, professional and neighborhood organizations in the municipality of Murcia.Barriers and opportunitiesThe following survey is part of the participatory process prior to the drafting of the Diagnosis document for the Elaboration of the Municipal Strategy of Circular Economy that the Murcia City Council promotes and develops.

The objective of this questionnaire is to gather the opinion of the citizens on the transition towards a circular economy, so that the barriers and opportunities that the citizens of the municipality of Murcia detect and consider as a top priority can be identified. The questionnaire is made up of 22 questions, divided into two blocks: a first one, aimed at citizens' behavior on waste management, consumption habits, the use of energy and water, mobility, the sustainability of spaces and the municipal management; and another second section, aimed at the circular economy, in which residents are asked about the concept, the priority initiatives in this context and the difficulties that arise in its development.“The City Council is immersed in an ambitious process of transformation towards a more productive and sustainable model.

For this, citizens are essential pieces, so I want to invite you to participate in this survey, which will not take more than 10 minutes, since your opinion is important to make Murcia a more responsible municipality, "explains Mercedes Bernabé.Three working tablesThis process of citizen consultation takes place after the celebration of the three work tables framed in the participation phase: the first included the municipal technicians; In the second, public concessionaires, companies and other entities participated, and the third was made up of experts from the academic field, research, technological and technical centers of the Autonomous Community."Citizen participation and transparency are key factors for the correct development and implementation of initiatives that affect the future of our city, since they allow us to know first-hand the concerns and decisions of our neighbors and take them into account for future municipal strategies", Mercedes Bernabé stands out.The Circular Economy Strategy is part of the Murcia 2030 Strategy and is aligned with the objectives included in the Murcia 2030 Urban Agenda, as well as in the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
