An agreement with the Telephone of Hope will provide emotional support to the tenants of the municipal housing park (17/04/2020)

| Its objective is to improve the social and psychological well-being, especially of the elderly who live alone, people who have a mental health problem, disability or whose situation has been aggravated by the health crisis | The Governing Board has approved the implementation of an agreement between the Murcia City Council, through the Department of Seniors, Disability and Development Cooperation with the Telephone of Hope, for the provision of emotional help to the park's tenants municipal housing.The agreement, which does not contemplate the assumption of economic commitments for any of the parties, will begin its validity from the day of its signature and will be in force during 2020, and may be extended before its completion during the year 2021.The objective of the agreement is to regulate the technical collaboration between the Department of Seniors, Disability and Development Cooperation and the International Telephone Association of Hope for the development of as many actions as necessary to improve the social, psychological and emotional well-being of people residing in social housing, especially those that live alone; they are older; have a mental health or disability problem; and whose situation has been aggravated by the health crisis caused by COVID-19. It will be the social section of the Housing service, dependent on the Department of the Elderly, Disability and Development Cooperation, that will refer to the Telephone of Hope the cases of those families or most vulnerable people who reside in social housing and need support and emotional attention."This collaboration with the Telephone of Hope will allow us to expand the monitoring that we are already carrying out and increase support for people, families and groups that are in a situation of greater residential and social vulnerability," said the mayor.

Paqui Pérez, who has insisted "on the need to help those who need it most at such critical moments".
