The City Council approves direct financial aid to vulnerable families of between 430 and 1,071 euros (17/04/2020)

To make the procedure as easy as possible for families, they will be able to send the required documentation through WhatsApp (which will be provided by the Social Services themselves).Direct deposit on accountThe beneficiaries will not need the official notification, but the aid will be accessed through a direct payment on account.Thus, the amount for a person will be 430.27 euros; for two, 645.41; for three of 787.39 euros; for four of 929.38 euros and for 5 or more members of 1,071.37 euros.The file will begin ex officio and at the initiative of Social Services professionals once they have direct knowledge of the circumstances that justify granting the aid.About 6,000 families and 3 million eurosThe Social Services Area of ??the Murcia City Council estimates that some 6,000 families from Murcia will benefit, which will mean an estimated amount of 3 million euros in direct aid.

Today a fixed cash advance has already been approved in the amount of 1,500,000 euros, destined for social aid.Single-parent and large familiesThe Social Services Area, since the beginning of this crisis by COVID-19, has been adopting different urgent measures aimed at meeting the most basic needs of the most vulnerable groups.The financial benefit will be granted once and the maximum limit is set at € 1,071.37.

The amount has been calculated based on the number of people that make up the family unit, up to a limit, increasing the amount according to the consumption unit criterion and starting from the economic scale of Basic Insertion Income (RBI) of the Autonomous Community of the Region Murcia for one person.AddresseesPeople or families who are in a serious situation of social vulnerability and do not have any type of income to cover basic needs will be recipients of this aid.The aid will be used exclusively for the acquisition of basic food, hygiene and personal hygiene products.

Exceptionally, if the professional assessment of the situation of need so advises, they may be used for other expenses derived from the maintenance of the habitual residence to avoid aggravation of the situation of social exclusion.
