The Department of Sustainable Mobility and Youth, through the Local Youth Council of Murcia, has launched the Maj @ s initiative of the ladder.
This project seeks to help older people and those who need it in the daily work of disposing of their waste while the state of alarm decreed by the COVID-19 crisis lasts and thus prevent people from the risk group from leaving the house live alone.
Through this charitable and non-profit initiative, the Local Youth Council of Murcia encourages young people to participate voluntarily in this project to help older people in their community throw away the garbage.
Those volunteers who wish to participate should slide an information sheet under the door to their neighbors to inform them that, if they need it, from then on they will be the ones to take their garbage to the collection point.
The objective is to eliminate the risk of contagion from this population group.
Volunteers and neighbors must respect at all times the sanitary instructions (use of gloves and mask) and the measures included in the decree of the alarm state to carry out this function.
The organization will make the document available for volunteers to distribute in the building.
People who want help will only have to leave the bags at the door of their house once they have received the information sheet.
Starting at 8:10 p.m., the ladder will pick up the garbage bag and drop it into the container on the days indicated in the document.
In order for this initiative to reach the largest number of people, the volunteers have launched various communication channels, mainly through social networks with profiles on Instagram (@murciatotal), and Facebook (murciatotal), in addition to an email email to which all inquiries can be addressed: Consejo@murciatotal.org
