For this, a work team from the University of Murcia will be in charge of preparing a report - agreed upon by the Governing Board - which will provide a diagnosis of the current situation, possible measures to be undertaken, as well as actions and monitoring of medium and long term.

"This action is developed within the framework of a rigorous technical study that determines the actions to be undertaken in the economic and social field.

This plan will mark the road map of the municipality for the coming months with the conviction of recovering municipal activity as soon as possible, in a coordinated manner, â€explains the councilor for Urban Agenda and Open Government, Mercedes Bernabé.

The report will be prepared by a work team made up of professors from the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Murcia: Miguel Esteban Yago, Antonio Losa Carmona, Mª José Portillo Navarro and José Carlos Sánchez de la Vega (coordinator).

The estimated duration for carrying out the work is four weeks and its cost amounts to 3,000 euros.

The researchers have waived their fees and they have been assigned from the Department of Urban Agenda and Open Government, through the University Service, to the Health Service, dependent on the Department of Sports and Health and in charge of coordinating everything. the aid management process in the coronavirus crisis.

Likewise, the Murcia City Council is already working, from different departments, on the implementation of fiscal measures for the maintenance of liquidity for companies and families in Murcia, in stimulating the economy during the state of alarm, as well as the development of sector plans for the immediate reactivation of the municipality once the state of alarm has ended.
