City Council and UMU will make a diagnosis of the impact of the health crisis in Murcia to speed up the economic recovery (31/03/2020)

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, chaired this morning the Health Committee of the Murcia City Council, which addressed the battery of measures of a social, economic, public health, safety, transport, personnel and cleaning nature, which have been put in place underway due to the health crisis, over the last few weeks.

Among the measures of an economic nature, the commission to the public universities to diagnose the impact of the health crisis in the municipality of Murcia, in economic and social terms, which will also include recovery and reactivation measures, stands out.

"The diagnosis that has been commissioned will allow to specify and design new measures and actions included in the 'Murcia Social Support and Economic Activation Plan COVID-19', as well as the development of sector plans for the immediate reactivation of the Murcian economy, a once the state of alarm has ended, â€reported José Ballesta.

"Having an accurate diagnosis as soon as possible will allow us to save time and implement, with the greatest agility possible, the necessary measures for the economic and social reactivation of Murcia, many of which we are already developing through this Economic Plan", indicated the mayor after the Committee, which was held 100% telematically.

"We are taking exceptional measures, which aim at the social support and economic activation of Murcia, such as speeding up the payment of 13 million euros to City Council providers, to inject liquidity into companies and businesses, as well as special subdivisions of public fees to families and citizens who prove unfavorable economic circumstances, "said the councilman.

The diagnosis that has been commissioned will allow to specify and design new measures and actions included in the Economic Plan, as well as the development of sector plans for the immediate reactivation of the Murcia economy once the state of alarm has ended.
