Murcia has streamlined the payment of more than 13 million euros to suppliers to minimize the effects of the coronavirus crisis (27/03/2020)

The Governing Board has today studied the different actions carried out by the Department of Citizen Security and Economic Management, led by Eduardo Martínez-Oliva and which are allowing, on the one hand, to lighten the payment to suppliers and, on the other hand, to facilitate Murcians pay taxes and fees.

In this way, the City Council has streamlined the payment of invoices and has settled since last March 14, when the state of alarm was decreed, a total of 13,154 million euros of payment to suppliers.

What is intended with this initiative is that Murcian companies have liquidity so that they can continue to develop their jobs and maintain their employees.

The average payment period last February was 18.65 days.

On the other hand, from the council, through the Municipal Tax Agency, electronic means have been provided so that Murcians can pay taxes and taxes more easily and from home.

Thus, the AMT has approved the identification system using a secure user password, with which taxpayers can carry out all their tax procedures through the Virtual Tax Office without requiring an electronic certificate or DNI-e.

To this end, and as a complement to telephone assistance, this option provides citizens with access to the Virtual Tax Office, thus guaranteeing the non-contact management of all tax procedures.

Activation of this Authentication System is done with a few simple steps:

Identification and registration is carried out by means of a simple telephone call to the phone 968 355 002, where the telematic attention personnel will confirm their identity by means of a series of control questions and answers.

Always complying with the regulations set forth in the Activation Protocol, the user password will be requested, for which the telephone manager will ask the citizen for an email address, where the necessary instructions will be sent to proceed with the activation of the requested key.

Once the citizen already has his secure authentication key, he will only have to access the Virtual Tax Office through https://www.murcia.es/AMT/ and complete the process.

This is in addition to the measures approved on March 20 within the Social Support and Economic Activation Plan to combat the coronavirus crisis and which are the following:

- Special subdivisions are granted for families, citizens and companies that prove unfavorable economic circumstances generated due to the declaration of the state of alarm.

- In general, automated installments of debts of less than 30,000 euros will be granted.

These subdivisions can be processed by phone or through the virtual office of the City Council and the AMT for citizens who request it without the need to provide any additional justification.

- A moratorium is granted in the voluntary payment period of the Tax on Mechanical Traction Vehicles, which will last until June 5, 2020.

- A moratorium is also granted in the period of voluntary collection of the following tax registers:

- The modification of the corresponding fiscal calendar will be approved by the Municipal Tax Agency, once the temporary space of the state of alarm is known.

- Face-to-face notifications are suspended for the duration of the alarm state.
