A closer and smarter Town Hall

Technology has been installed in a dizzying way in all areas of municipal management.

The councilor for Urban Development and Administration Modernization, José Guillén, explains that “today we can provide all these services remotely and electronically thanks to the fact that in recent years the consistory has undergone a very important transformation and modernization of its administration towards a new model of smart City Council, more accessible, with the latest technological advances, which make life easier for citizens, eliminate bureaucracy, streamline procedures and, above all, be able to do it all, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day telematically, remotely and without having to make any travel;

all this has been developed within the Smart City strategy, through the MiMurcia project â€.

The greatest example of this is the Electronic Office (sede.murcia.es), a portal from which the citizen, with a digital certificate or electronic ID, can access from any device and place in the world to carry out the procedures related to the different municipal services , as well as the presentation of your municipal competition applications.

Thus, in addition to those mentioned above, they are related to social services, health, urban planning, housing, the environment, traffic, activities on public roads, parks and gardens, and access to selective employment and training processes, among others.

A special device for the period of isolation

In accordance with Royal Decree 463/2020 of March 14, 2020 of the Ministry of the Presidency that declares the State of Alarm, the City Council established a special Citizen Attention device in which it eliminated the face-to-face service, reinforcing instead telephone and telematic lines.

“Our goal now is to be close to the citizens, in the most effective way.

So we have reorganized our Service in order to continue operating in these tough times we are experiencing and continue to provide Murcia with everything they need, "explains Mercedes Bernabé.

Thus, the Offices suspend their face-to-face activity to the public, but will continue their work internally.

The officials continue with their tasks and functions in the General Registry and in the Single Window, where they continue to register, manage and confirm the writings that exist and arrive from ORVE (Virtual Electronic Registry), in addition to Administration, Civil Marriages and the activity in Glorieta from Spain.

Likewise, from Plaza Europa and Abenarabi, telephone and telematic services are provided, as are the staff of Pedanías and Distritos.
