Parks and Gardens will provide only the essential basic services (23/03/2020)

The Department of Urban Development and Administration Modernization, led by José Guillén, has carried out a work plan for the Parks and Gardens area in order to reorganize services and personnel during the period of isolation established by the Government of Spain.

“We are facing a difficult situation that we must overcome from collective responsibility, with agility and diligence in decision making.

For this, we understand it necessary to redirect the development of our work with a minimum service plan that contributes to the fulfillment of preventive measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19 â€.

José Guillén explains.

In this way, sharing the proposal of the Regional Government, the plan establishes the reorganization of the work of the Parks and Gardens area, both of official personnel and of the concessionary companies, with the establishment of essential services in order to protect health and employee safety.

Regarding the personnel, their presence on the street will be reduced with the minimum personnel to attend to the essential needs.

The technicians and office personnel will be able to take advantage of the system by telework and the face-to-face shift will only be 25% daily, as well as directed to those people not considered at risk.

These measures are in addition to those already agreed since the proclamation of the state of alarm, such as the closure of children's play areas, sports and senior spaces and the closure of drinking fountains.

In addition, work with machines that generate indiscriminate dust, blowers and chippers (shredding pruning remains) will be avoided.

Likewise, the minimum works associated with public safety and health issues derived from the aforementioned state of alarm are hereby established as essential services in these circumstances linked to green areas and their equipment and facilities: irrigation;

phytosanitary treatments;

cleaning;

security of facilities and equipment;

corrective measures and incidents related to woodland risk;

Irrigation breakdowns, hydraulic installations and treatment, disinfection and cleaning of canine recreation areas, urban furniture dependent on this service, sources and lakes;

or repair of leaks or water loss in these.

"I want to thank all the staff who are working tirelessly in the performance of their duties, their collaboration and the responsibility with which they are acting from the first moment in the face of this alarm situation that, without a doubt, we will overcome among all", the councilor stands out.
