The Department of Social Rights and Family, led by Pilar Torres, will offer aid next week to minors in the municipality who had a dining room grant.
Thus, and thanks to an agreement with CaixaBank, the families of these 2,102 children will be provided with a rechargeable card that is activated only to purchase food.
The formula will be to give each family a prepaid card for the amount corresponding to the anticipated days of isolation.
If the confinement situation continues and the central government subsidy for this purpose is extended, the card may be recharged.
The cards will be sent to the address of each school that will be in charge of distributing them among the families.
The City Council will receive a grant of 107,000 euros, which will allow the delivery of an amount of more than five euros per child per day.
Councilor Pilar Torres thanked "the members of the Childhood and Social Rights Service for their work and full readiness during these last days to offer a solution and that our minors are perfectly taken care of."
Likewise, "we thank CaixaBank for providing us with these cards, which have greatly expedited the solution, which avoid concentrations since each family will go to their corresponding school and which allow that if this period is extended they can be recharged directly so that minors keep getting these grants. "
