All the deadlines for processing administrative processes at the University of Murcia are paralyzed
The University of Murcia has made itself available to the Murciano Health Service (SMS) to collaborate in all that is necessary and to help in the health crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
This morning the University has appealed to all the research and teaching staff of the health disciplines to gather the material they have and that the SMS needs.
Specifically, the collection of masks, glasses, disposable gowns and nitrile gloves has been organized in different centers and everything collected is being sent to the SMS.
On the other hand, the University of Murcia has also made its infrastructure available to the Murcian Health Service in the event that it should be necessary.
In the first instance, the health authorities have been offered, if they consider it appropriate, the use of the departmental building of the Health Sciences Campus, located in the vicinity of the Virgen de La Arrixaca Hospital.
Regarding the activity in the institution, all the centers and faculties remain closed and both the academic and administrative activities are being carried out by telework.
The attendance at the University facilities has been reduced to the minimum necessary to guarantee the safety of equipment and people.
All possible options are also being enabled to be able to maintain research activities.
In the last few hours, the Area of ​​Information Technologies and Applied Communications (ÁTICA) has worked intensively to scale the capacity of the computer tools that will allow us to carry out virtual activities as normally as possible in everyday activities.
In a special way, work has been done on the videoconference tool for the development of classes through the virtual classroom.
The faculties are publishing throughout the day the contingency plans informing about how the academic activity will be carried out during the time that the state of alarm lasts.
On the other hand, and following the decree of the state of alarm, the terms of any administrative procedure of the University of Murcia are interrupted.
The calculation of the terms will be resumed at the moment in which the aforementioned decree is suspended.
The Rectorate of the University of Murcia asks the university community to maintain confinement in their homes and reminds us that we are not facing a vacation period, that academic activity and part of the investigation are maintained through telematic means.
