The municipal employees who have to take care of minors or older dependents will be able to make their working hours more flexible, always guaranteeing the provision of public services (13/03/2020)

The councilor of Pedanías y Barrios, Marco Antonio Fernández, chaired this morning the Committee on Occupational Safety and Health with a single item on the agenda: 'Coronavirus information'.

Thus, during the meeting, the councilor announced various measures for municipal public employees to care for minors and elderly dependents, due to the closure of educational centers and senior care centers, always guaranteeing the provision of public services.

In this way, the flexibility of the ordinary working day (hourly and shift flexibility) established and the time adjustments and work shifts compatible with the family situation of the employees are established.

In addition, it offers the possibility of carrying out work from home in those cases in which work and the family situation make it possible and adequate means are available

In the event that it is essential, the presence of the public employee in his home will be allowed, having the consideration of inexcusable duty in accordance with the provisions of article 48.J of the Consolidated Text of the Law of the Basic Statute of Public Employees.

In the event that both parents or those responsible for the elderly dependent have the status of municipal public employee, they will not be able to enjoy the latter measure simultaneously.

The various measures implemented by the City Council and related to public employees have also been reported.

Since last Wednesday, City Council officials have been able to sign from the computer, not only from fingerprint readers, and measures to distance themselves from the cases have been established in public service jobs.

It is also recommended that meetings outside Murcia be suspended or held by videoconference and posters have been placed in municipal buildings in order to offer detailed information on how to properly carry out hand hygiene, both with alcoholic disinfectant and with soap and water.

On the other hand, antiseptic gel dispensers have been installed in the different fingerprint time control terminals as one of the precautionary measures regarding coronavirus, and in citizen service offices.

Likewise, cleaning companies have been instructed to intensify their work, increasing the frequency of cleaning common spaces, and specifically items such as handles, knobs, railings or taps, in addition to ensuring that at no time do they stop having soap in sinks, as well as ventilate the rooms.
