On March 14, 1977, the Extraordinary General Assembly of the Association of Neighbors of Puente Tocinos was held, in which for the first time and after the legalization of the Neighborhood Associations and the reform of the Associations Law, women could take part as full member with voice and vote and therefore elect and be elected to be part of the governing bodies.
In the new Board of Directors emanating from this General Assembly, 11 women joined the new board of directors in different areas and vocalities.
Taking advantage of women's week, the Neighborhood Association wants to honor these women.
The event will take place next Friday, March 13 at the Cultural Center of the district and will be guided by the journalist Lucía Hernández and the participation of Rosa Peñalver, teacher and former president of the Regional Assembly.
Of those 11 women, two of them will be paid tribute posthumously, for not being among us and the other nine have their attendance confirmed.
