“The holding of this conference in the Moneo Building is an opportunity to meet one of the great professionals of cinema, one of the purest and least conventional creators of contemporary cinema, to understand what happened in the last audiovisual century by the hand of a creator who leaves no one indifferent, â€said the mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, who will attend the master class this afternoon, whose admission is free until full capacity is reached.

The evolution of cinema with its philias and phobias

The British filmmaker will explain during the presentation his vision of the evolution of cinema, with his philias, phobias and perversions.

During his career, Greenaway has been nominated in countless film festival competitions, among which are top-line events such as Cannes, Venice and Berlin.

In addition, he has published scripts and written catalogs for theater and opera.

His current projects include multimedia installations that involve the original paintings of the 'Night Guard' of Rembrandt in Amsterdam, 'The Last Supper of Da Vinci' in Milan, and the 'Marriage Veronese in Cana' of Venice.

Greenaway has also become known as VJ - creating real-time cinema by combining movie scenes with music from a live DJ.

The director also has honorary degrees from the universities of Staffordshire, Edinburgh, Gdansk, Bucharest, Southampton and Utrecht, and was awarded a CBE in 1990 and a BAFTA in 2014 for his services to the cinema.

This year the IBAFF Festival has paid tribute to him by screening a selection of his films at the Regional Film Library within its Information Section.
