The Foresta Plan encourages social participation with the Astrade plantation in Terra Natura (01/03/2020)

Users of the Association star in the last plantation of new trees in the municipal zoo.

The urban reforestation activity is carried out with varieties that adapt to the climate of the municipality and its thermal characteristics.

José Guillén: "The Forest Plan ensures that different social and neighborhood groups of all ages are actively involved in the care of our environment, thus contributing to a more sustainable and friendlier municipality."

The Forest Plan is the strategy of the City of Murcia to double the forest mass of the municipality, from 100,000 to 200,000 trees.

Thus, throughout the weeks, plantations are carried out in different locations and spaces of the municipality and in charge of different groups and with people of all ages, from young, old, school and neighbors.

Users of Astrade (Association for the Attention of People with Generalized Developmental Disorders of the Region of Murcia) have starred in the last planting of new trees in Terra Natura.

The young people previously received a didactic talk with information about the environmental benefits of the initiative.

So far, Assido (Association for People with Down Syndrome), Aspapros (Association of Parents and Protectors of People with Intellectual Disabilities of Murcia) and Astrapace (Association for the Treatment of People with Cerebral Palsy and Related Pathologies) have already participated in this activity ), in addition to Astrade.

In this way, the Forest Plan will take copies of native varieties to the municipal zoo, selected by university experts, technicians and scientists from the area, which adapt to the climate of the municipality and its thermal characteristics.

More than 4,000 trees planted

The 2030 Forestry Plan has already managed to plant more than 4,000 trees since its commissioning.

The City Council has planned the activity distributing it in schools, Murcia Río, districts, different social actions such as the 'Parks, music and action' program, plantations with schools, youth associations or the third sector or those carried out in the municipal zoo Terra Natura, among many others.
