The accesses to the left bank of the river are already open to the public after the reconditioning of the pavement (28/02/2020)

The City Council has repaired the urban section, from the Iron Bridge to the Hospital Bridge, after the damage caused by the passage of the DANA.

Murcia can now travel through this space completely reconditioned with pavement naturalized in two shades.

José Guillén: "These actions are part of the 'Murcia Río' project, which is assuming the transformation of 250,000 m2 in the urban environment of the river, becoming the largest river and leisure park in the municipality."

The City Council has already completed the reconditioning works of the naturalized pavement on the left bank of the Segura River in its urban section, from the Iron Bridge to the Hospital Bridge.

The space began to be conditioned at the beginning of February after the small damages suffered by the passage of the Depression Isolated in High Levels (DANA) last September, in this specific area of ​​the route.

Thus, neighbors and pedestrians can now travel through this space completely reconditioned with pavement naturalized in two shades.

"These actions are part of the project 'Murcia Río', which is assuming the transformation of 250,000 m2 in the urban environment of the river, becoming the largest river and leisure park in the municipality," said the Councilor for Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration, José Guillén, who has visited the works, just finished, on the left bank of the river.

Next week the signaling work for the renewed section will begin for both the bike lane and the pedestrian crossing.

Murcia Río I: the performances one by one

The 'Murcia Río' social and environmental recovery project is made up of the Alameda del Malecón, Las Cuatro Piedras, the bike lane of the Mota del Río, the intelligent lighting of the channel installed throughout its urban section;

as well as the right and left banks of the river, the River Walk and the Visitor Center of La Contraparada.
