The Tomás and Valiente Garden of Puente Tocinos will have a children's play area that will simulate a great anthill (28/02/2020)

The space will be divided into three rooms of different use: one for sports, another room and a third for children.

The remodeling of this garden is part of the Renace Plan, the City Council project for the development of the green areas of ten districts.

José Guillén: "The neighbors will recover this emblematic park, whose works will improve, not only the aesthetics of the town, but also the quality of life of citizens."

The Councilor for Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration, José Guillén, today visited the remodeling works of the Tomás y Valiente Garden of Puente Tocinos, which is expected to be ready for spring and has a budget of 125,401 euros.

The garden will be divided into different rooms for its use and operation: one for sports activities, a living area for the use and enjoyment of neighbors with new urban furniture and large areas of walk with shade;

and a children's space with modern game elements.

In this way, the neighbors will have a garden where they can perform sports such as football, pimpon and petanque and the little ones will have a playful area with attractive game pieces, which will simulate a great anthill.

This space will also have a perimeter security fence and new pavement.

Likewise, lateral circular flower beds will be enhanced with shrub plantation that will improve their appearance and the biodiversity of the park.

In addition, the central pergola will be landscaped and renovated, planting climbing species around it with the aim of creating new shady areas.

For this, there will also be a more modern irrigation system that can efficiently supply the entire park.

“The residents of Puente Tocinos will recover this emblematic park of the village, whose work will improve, not only the aesthetics of the town, but also the quality of life of citizens,†says José Guillén.

Renace Plan

The City of Murcia will invest more than 1,295,000 million euros through the Renace Plan, the project with which the parks and gardens of ten districts will be remodeled: Sangonera La Verde, Cabezo de Torres, Aljucer, Guadalupe, Torreagüera, Espinardo, Santiago and Zaraiche, Patiño, El Palmar and Puente Tocinos, with the space of Tomás and Valiente.

The initiative focuses on the improvement of green spaces with the remodeling of the pavement, the planting of new trees and shrubs, the renovation of children's areas, the expansion of residential areas, as well as the construction of sports spaces.

For José Guillén, “the Renace Plan converts parks and gardens into living spaces, neighborhood meeting and participation points, areas for exercise, more accessible and leisure spaces with all security measures and modern elements for More smalls".
