Murcia will receive a response to their complaints and suggestions within one month (28/02/2020)

The Governing Board has approved today the draft Organic Regulations of the Commission for Suggestions and Claims of the City of Murcia, which will allow people interested in submitting complaints and suggestions to the session, either on the operation and performance of the municipal administration or of the dependent entities, have a response within a maximum period of one month.

This is stated in the draft that, after its approval today by the government team, must be ratified by the full and published in the BORM for its entry into force.

"In this way, the new ordinance, the result of a participation process initiated in the previous mandate, will improve transparency in municipal management," highlights the Councilor for Urban Agenda and Open Government, Mercedes Bernabé.

The regulation will try to control the operation of the activity of the Special Commission of Suggestions and Complaints, created for the defense of the rights of neighbors in the Municipal Administration.

This body informs the Plenary, through an annual report, of the claims presented and of the deficiencies observed in the operation of the municipal services, specifying the suggestions or recommendations not admitted by the administration.

In order to process the neighborhood issues, the City Council will create an Administrative Unit for Suggestions, Complaints and Claims whose function will be to manage the issues brought by the citizens, which will be reported to the Commission and will make an annual report, where it will detail and analyze its activity .

Said document shall be submitted to the Plenary for consideration within three months.

According to this regulation, all municipal services are obliged to send to this unit the writings received in their department and will have a maximum period of 20 business days to inform citizens about the actions taken.

The Special Commission for Suggestions and Claims is chaired by the Councilor for Urban Agenda and Open Government, Mercedes Bernabé.

It will meet every four months, having its periodic operation, although the president may call extraordinary meetings when there are matters to be addressed or requested by at least three of its members.
