The ILO explains at the University of Murcia the 'road map' of decent work in Spain (28/02/2020)

The ODSesiones project of the University of Murcia (UMU), framed in the project to promote the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), organized the talk 'The regulations of the ILO, Social Justice and Decent Work' in the Faculty of Sciences of Work, in which the counselor of the International Labor Organization (ILO) in Spain, Natalia Díaz.

Currently, Díaz is the head of the Correspondence Unit with the ILO of the Ministry of Labor.

Law degree from the UMU, she has worked as general secretary in various municipalities of Spain and has held the position of head of area in international affairs of the Institute of Youth.

She has also been a leading expert before the European Union in the European Agency for Chemical Substances and Mixtures, based in Finland, and served as an advisor in the Presidency Cabinet of the Government of Pedro Sánchez.

Díaz has two postgraduate degrees in 'Public Communication and Defense' and 'Intelligence Services', both by the Gutiérrez Mellado University Institute, belonging to the UNED.

In his talk, he explained the 'road map' that the Government of Spain must follow to promote decent employment and how to promote "sustained, inclusive and sustainable" economic growth.

During his presentation, he stressed that "our great challenge is that Spain is a country where decent work prevails, as one of the pillars of an advanced society."

After organizing thematic activities on 'End of poverty' (SDG 1), 'Zero hunger' (SDG 2), 'Health and Wellbeing' (SDG 3), 'Quality education' (SDG 4), 'Gender equality '(SDG 5),' Clean water and sanitation '(SDG 6) and' Affordable and non-polluting energy '(SDG 7), this February the program focuses on SDG 8:' Decent work and economic growth '.

ODSesiones is a project sponsored by the regional government, Aguas de Murcia, Bankia and the Cajamurcia Foundation, which organizes from February 2019 until May 2021 about 500 activities to publicize the United Nations 2030 Agenda among the university community and Murcia society in general.
