The PSOE obtains the support of the Plenary for the majority of its proposals such as facilitating access and information to the opposition (27/02/2020)

On the other hand, Serrano has had to call the attention of the president of the Plenary for allowing "the personal attack" to the councilor Teresa Franco from the ultra-right group, which "has no scruples to use arguments taken from context, macho, denial and fake "

The Municipal Socialist Group has achieved this morning the plenary's support for almost all the motions presented (ten own and two joint), among which the elimination of obstacles to the opposition work stands out.

"We have demanded that our task of inspection and control of the Government be guaranteed by eliminating all the obstacles that the councilors of the PP put on us and that hinder transparency in municipal management," says the socialist spokesman, José Antonio Serrano.

He adds that this proposal "has meant both a claim and also a complaint, since we have exposed real cases in which we had to wait an hour at the municipal offices because the official did not dare to provide us with the information, perhaps because of fear to retaliation, or where we have been required by government councilors to ask permission when we go to visit municipal facilities. "

Also, Serrano points out that "this motion has been approved with an amendment of Citizens, whose spokesman, first deputy mayor of this Corporation, has been even harder."

Likewise, the socialist spokesman highlights the "great agreement" obtained to regulate the proliferation of bookmakers and gambling halls, as well as its publicity and schedule, in order to curb what he considers "one of the main scourges of today's society, gambling, especially among young people. "

The groups that are working in this direction have shown their gratitude, while students of the IES José Planes, of Espinardo, who made a very interesting study on this addiction, have come this morning to the Plenary.

Another of the agreed proposals is to establish safe bus stops so that at nightfall women do not run any risk, so "we are very proud that we continue moving forward to eliminate gender inequalities," Serrano points out.

In this regard, two motions regarding March 8 have also been approved, one for the City Council to participate in the activities on the occasion of this date and to make a study on the salary differences between men and women, the other was intended that the municipal boards honor outstanding women of their districts.

Precisely, with the motion related to March 8 presented by Vox, Serrano has had to call the attention of the president of the Plenary for allowing "the personal attack" to councilwoman Teresa Franco on behalf of the ultra-right group, which "has no scruples to use arguments taken out of context, macho, denialist and false when they are agreed by the unfortunate spectacle he has given today rejecting any proposal related to the protection of women. "

The Municipal Group, accompanied by the councilors of Podemos-Equo, has left the Plenary, in protest, while the socialist spokesman has shown his full support for the number two of the PSOE, condemning this type of "crawling attacks" in institutions that have centuries of existence and reputation, and stressing that the case is conceived by Franco, who reported alleged harassment, continues its judicial course.

On the other hand, the motion that required bonuses for neighborhood residents, who are paying € 1.85 per bus trip, has been approved.

"We miss an unlimited travel bonus for 30 days for a price not exceeding € 40, as well as discounts to groups with lower purchasing power. We are satisfied that we have reached an agreement and now we only hope that it will be launched as soon as possible "says the spokesman.

During the Plenary session, motions for the development of LGTBI and Music Laws have also been approved, endowing them economically in the regional Budgets.

In addition, it has been agreed to support the group of merchants in the southern zone, which is enduring the inconvenience of underground works, as well as protecting the architectural heritage through the General Urban Planning Plan.

"And for all that we propose, it is also necessary that the City of Murcia receive the money from the regional budgets that correspond to it for being the largest municipality, for being the capital of the Region and for assuming powers that are of the Community, that we have claimed in another of the motions, also approved, "says Serrano.
