The Salesian community of Cabezo de Torres organizes, for the seventh consecutive year, a solidarity dinner whose collection is destined to collaborate with different mission projects.
In this case, the donations will go to the urgent construction of three classrooms for the public school of Pel Maoudé in Mali (Africa), which lost its classrooms due to heavy rains.
The NGO "Friends of Mali", based in Churra, which has been working since 1997 to try to improve the living conditions of people in that country, was the one who proposed this project to the Salesian community.
The event will take place on March 13, at 8:30 p.m., in the Don Bosco Salesian College of Cabezo de Torres.
The donation to participate will be 5 euros.
Those who cannot attend dinner and wish to collaborate with the project may do so through an account number enabled for the occasion, which will be provided from the center (968899719).
Dinner will consist of bread, oil and paprika.
"It is a dinner of the poor whose true intention is to raise awareness, create meeting spaces and collaborate with a good cause, since everything that is collected is intended entirely to finance the project," explains José Antonio Vives, Salesian Cooperator of the Cabezo de Torres community.
More than 400 people participated last year in this solidarity dinner in which 6,700 euros were raised.
"Unfortunately, last year's project, consisting of the construction of several classrooms in Tabitongo, very close to Pel, could not be carried out due to the war situation that is being experienced in that territory. Therefore, everything that is He raised this year's project, to rebuild the Pel classrooms, whose works - which are about to end - amount to 23,000 euros and will benefit 860 children, "says Vives.
