On February 27 at 6:00 pm, in the Mariano Baquero Degrees Hall of the Merced Campus, the cinema 'Felony Colonies in Murcia: A Social and Collective Responsibility' will take place.
In this event, guided by the researcher of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Murcia (UMU) Ricardo Navarro, the most outstanding fragments of the documentary feature "Animals, along the middle path" will be screened.
The debate on the viewing of this documentary, which will be moderated by the head of the Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit (UCC + i) of the UMU Delfina Roca, will be attended by the dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Gaspar Ros Berruezo and the lawyer of the office DeAnimals Raquel López Teruel.
'Animals, in the middle way'
The feature film addresses the situation of thousands of animals victims of illegal trafficking of species or abuse, and of those that are rescued or seized by the authorities.
The documentary filmmaker Manuel Galipienso and the animal behavior expert Pascale Prêcheur manage to gather, for the first time, more than twenty public bodies, companies and professionals most important in Spain related to the animal world, to publicize the work that daily performed in favor of animal welfare.
In addition, the progress that as a society we are granting mainly to cats and dogs is emphasized, and a summary of the historical route of the Region of Murcia is made, which is among the five autonomous communities with greater animal awareness in terms of reflection in the protective laws.
This activity, organized by the Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit of the University of Murcia (UCC + I of the UMU) with the collaboration of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology - Ministry of Science and Innovation, aims bring scientific culture closer to society.
