The Councilor for Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration, José Guillén, has visited the public lighting activities that are being undertaken in this district.
The street will have 134 points of light, which will go from having a power of 37 kw to 10 kw, which will mean an economic saving of 11,700 euros per year.
José Guillén: "In addition to the environmental benefit of these works, the actions are carried out thinking about the safety of the citizens who travel the road, providing this artery with more light, thus making it much more visible and perceptible to the neighbors."
The City Council, through the Department of Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration, continues with the work of improving street lighting in different streets and districts of the municipality of Murcia.
Councilor José Guillén has visited this morning the actions that are being undertaken in Sangonera La Seca, specifically in the more than four kilometers of Avenida Lorca, in order to improve the safety of this artery of the district.
Thus, lighting is being renewed with the installation of 134 new LED technology light points.
In this way, the street will go from having a power of 37 Kw to 10 Kw, which means reducing the annual emission of 6 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere and saving 11,700 euros per year.
Likewise, with these actions, visibility is improved by 40% in normal conditions and 80% in rainy situations, with respect to what had been installed.
In the words of the councilor “with these improvements, the commitments assumed by the City Council to curb climate change are fulfilled, but they are also carried out thinking about the safety of the citizens who circulate on the road, providing it with more light and thus making it more visible and noticeable to neighbors. â€
