The results of the Quality Contest will be made public at the Gala to be held on Tuesday night, in which the Gold, Silver or Bronze medals will be awarded to the winning wines.

During this act the Regulatory Council of the PDO Bullas will also honor different professionals, farmers, and institutions, in recognition of the effort, delivery and support.

DOP Bullas wines, a differentiating flavor

DOP Bullas wines have nuances that distinguish them from other Levantine regions, thanks to their Mediterranean-like climate with mountain influence, which have short but rigorous winters and long summers with temperature contrasts.

These thermal oscillations are a key factor that influences the quality of the grapes, their maturation being much slower.

In addition, the rugged terrain of the area gives rise to valleys with unique and unique microclimates that provide a special quality to the vineyards.

These climatic and edaphic conditions favor the development of the Monastrell variety, which constitutes more than 81% of the production in this wine area.

Other varieties are Tempranillo, Carbenet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Petit Vedot and Garnacha for reds and rosés, and Macabeo and Malvasía for whites.

PDO Bullas, the Murcia brand crosses borders

In the last campaign, DOP Bullas wineries have produced around 3,500,000 kilos of grapes and sold 1,500,000 bottles of wine, of which 51% have been sold outside of Spain.

United Kingdom Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Poland, Holland, United States, Switzerland, Russia, China, Japan and Australia are the main destinations.

Despite its international expansion, the wineries of this Denomination of Origin coincide in their character as a small company or cooperative type that carry out an artisanal elaboration in their wines and that retain respect for the landscape and crops, often inherited from One generation to another.
