Electric mobility, essential pillar of the Murcia Smart City strategy

The consolidation of electric mobility is one of the essential pillars of the new energy model and, in particular, of the Murcia Smart City strategy.

In this context, the City Council and Iberdrola will work hand in hand to promote the use of the electric vehicle, overcoming the current barriers to such mobility, such as the absence of fast recharging infrastructures in spaces owned and publicly accessible.

The consistory and the electric company signed a collaboration agreement for the development of the pilot project for fast charging of electric vehicles in the city of Murcia a month ago, which will enable 10 new express electrolineras, free of charge, in the municipality .

"The participation of Iberdrola Distribution in the implementation of this project offers the possibility of contributing decisively in the achievement of the objectives of electric mobility in the Smart City," said Jos Guilln, within the framework of the Enertic event.
