Torres: "We have improved the Social Services area both in personnel and in facilities, technical facilities and mobile parks" (19/02/2020)

The Councilor for Social Rights and Family, Pilar Torres, has recriminated the Socialist Councilwoman Esther Nevado that "it is difficult to criticize and forget to list the various improvements that have occurred in Social Services."

"Last year 40,063 demands were met through the previous appointment, with an increase over the year 2018 of 3,163 attentions. This increase in the number of family units served has been made possible by the improvements in the primary care system initiated in 2019 , which have allowed to increase the professional workforce in 9 social workers and five administrative assistants and the creation of 9 Social Work Units, "said Torres.

The councilor added that "these improvements are part of a broader approach that includes the adequacy of current facilities and the opening of new facilities, some of which will be opened in the next few days, after the completion of the corresponding works, and others that are being processed for lease as soon as possible. "

"During this year it is planned to continue with the necessary investments to continue the improvement of the current facilities and the technical means of the professionals, including the improvement of the computer equipment and the necessary applications for the management", continued the mayor.

Torres stressed that "the entire Social Services mobile park has been modernized. Last year its expansion began, which we will continue this year. However, the characteristics of the municipality and the volume of professional staff and the obligation to carry out continuous displacements for the realization of the different professional tasks, they will continue to force the use of private vehicles whose use is fully foreseen and that is duly remunerated according to the amounts of mileage made according to current regulations for this type of situation. "

Remember that the Home Help Service serves 2,138 users, the Telecare Service at 2,919, the Home Delivery Service at 303, among others.
