The municipal government boasts its participatory and transparent nature but today we learned by press of the implementation of the first line of the Tranvibús in the municipality of Murcia.
In the plenary session held last January, a motion unanimously passed by the Socialist and Podemos-Equo groups was approved, agreeing that the Transportation Bureau will study the socioeconomic viability of the tram extension and the study of the suitability of the creation of a metropolitan area that expands and includes other municipalities such as Alcantarilla and Molina de Segura, among others.
Ginés Ruiz Maciá, spokesman for the municipal group Podemos-Equo, said "today we learned through different regional media that this morning a 'Mobility and Transportation Technical Commission' has been convened in which there are only councilors of the government team, and in which, according to the media, the first line of the trambus has already been presented; the same whose viability was to be studied at the `Transportation Board 'at the same time as the extension of the tram, so that it could decide which of the two means implanted in the municipality ".
He added that "in the same news we also learned that yesterday the mayor proceeded to sign the contract for the award of the 'Reorganization study of urban transport in the city of Murcia', for a value exceeding € 200,000."
In conclusion, he said that "although Ballesta presumes to lead a participatory and transparent government, we continue to see how they ignore the Plenary agreements and take the decisions already taken to the organs of participation."
For that, the spokesman has ironized, that "better to dissolve the Plenary Session of the City Council, not to convene any participatory body, and to send us the press releases that in the end is how we learn what is decided."
