The University of Murcia and Fundown dedicate a conference to the shared housing project tomorrow (17/02/2020)

The University of Murcia, through the Service of Attention to Diversity and Volunteering, and Fundown celebrate this Tuesday, February 18, and on Wednesday, February 19, a conference dedicated to the 'Shared housing with people with intellectual disabilities'.

The sessions have as main objective to publicize the volunteer program in which students from the University of Murcia participate;

In addition to analyzing the psychoeducational model proposed with this program, which seeks to promote the independence and autonomy of people with intellectual disabilities.

Throughout the conference, the role of families and volunteers will be analyzed and the daily life in one of these shared homes will be discussed;

among other aspects related to this training model.

The opening of the conference will take place tomorrow Tuesday at 16.30 in the Assembly Hall of the Luis Vives Building, on the Espinardo Campus.

The rector of the UMU, José Luján, and the manager of Fundown, Pedro Martínez will attend the opening.

The shared housing model has been operating for a decade thanks to university students and the University of Murcia and Fundown maintain a collaboration agreement.

Those who participate in this program receive a scholarship in the form of accommodation and maintenance.

The project is open to any student, regardless of the academic branch, who have the concern to meet other realities and have an enriching experience.
