The exhibition hall of La Glorieta shows the 'Curiosities of Miguel Hernández´ (13/02/2020)

The Councilor for Culture and Heritage Recovery, Jesús Pacheco, has presented the exhibition 'Curiosities of Miguel Hernández', together with the curator of the exhibition, José Manuel Carcasés;

the collaborator of the Exhibition, María Antonia Soto;

members of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Santa María de la Arrixaca de Murcia and the Real Casino Murcia and the author of the works, Santiago Ydáñez.

This exhibition shows paintings by artist Santiago Ydáñez, corresponding to the images that illustrate the book of the writer and journalist José Manuel Carcasés, which gathers the life of Miguel Hernández through anecdotes and little-known curiosities.

Carcasés 'book, '75 curiosities of Miguel Hernández', was published by the deputation of Jaén in 2017 on the occasion of the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the death of Miguel Hernández.

The exhibition consists of 18 original works by the painter Santiago Ydáñez, acrylics on Fabriano paper and an acrylic on canvas of 3 x 3 meters that illustrate the book.

Also included are four large acrylic works on canvas, two portraits of Miguel Hernández, 2 x 3 meters each, 'Jilguero', 2 x 1.6 meters and 'Portrait of García Lorca', 2 x 1 ,5 meters.

The exhibition can be visited from Monday to Saturday from 11 am to 2 pm and from 6 pm to 8 pm in the exhibition hall of La Glorieta until March 22.

The opening of the event will be at 7:30 p.m. and Miguel Hernández's family, Lucía Hernández, will attend.

Councilor Jesús Pacheco has explained that "this is a unique occasion to discover unknown aspects of the Oriolan poet through the painting of one of the most valued artists today such as Santiago Ydáñez."

For more information you can consult an edited leaflet with the title of the exhibition, 'Curiosities of Miguel Hernández', the list of works by Santiago Ydáñez with the technical file, the text of the curator of the exhibition, José Manuel Carcasés, the relationship of parallel activities and the collaborators of the event.

On March 27, a parallel activity will be held with the conference 'Miguel Hernández, from Murcia to the world', which will be given by José Manuel Carcasés at 8:00 p.m. in the Hall of the Real Casino of Murcia.
