The UMU collaborates in the First National Conference on Social Media and Organ Donation (13/02/2020)

The University of Murcia (UMU) collaborates with the First National Conference on Social Media and Organ Donation to be held at the Reina Sofía University Hospital on February 13 and 14.

This activity is aimed at discovering how social networks can help strengthen the message and encourage donation and organ transplantation in society, as well as favor truthful information on this topic.

The UMU will be represented in the training part of these days by the Vice Chancellor for Scientific Transfer and Dissemination, José Manuel López Nicolás, who will give the conference 'Keys to disseminate science 2.0'.

In addition, the teachers of the School of Communication Paz Gómez and Delfina Roca will participate in a post-congress workshop in which they will show attendees how to interpret headlines and detect fake news.

In addition, among others, the poster will include, among other speakers, the scientific journalists Javier Salas de Materia (El País), Laura Chaparro (Maldita Ciencia), María Martínez (Press Office of the National Transplant Organization-ONT) and Monte Mora (Hospital Reina Sofía de Córdoba).

Always strong

During the conference, the documentary 'Always strong.

The story of Pablo Ráez ': Later a debate will be opened in which the directors and producers of the film will participate;

Pablo Ramírez, regional transplant coordinator;

Pedro Hellín, dean of the UMU School of Communication and Mario Royo-Villanova, transplant medical coordinator of the Virgen de la Arrixaca University Clinical Hospital (HCUVA).

The activity will be closed by the Vice Chancellor for Quality, Culture and Communication, Francisco Javier Martínez Méndez.

These conferences are intended for students of Health Sciences, Communication, health personnel and hospital and regional coordinating staff.

The activity is organized by Javier Almela, from the UMU School of Communication, together with the professors of the Beatriz February School of Medicine and Pablo Ramírez.

The registration period is open until February 11 through the Casiopea platform.
