The Councilor for Sustainable Mobility and Youth, Rebeca Pérez, has visited this morning the bank of MuyBici of the Paseo Florencia to present the 50 new bicycles that have been incorporated into the municipal rental system.
In this way, Murcia can make use of a total of 600 bicycles distributed among the 60 banks of the municipality.
Rebeca Pérez explained that "these bicycles replace others that have deteriorated due to use or vandalism so that the service is not reduced and its users can continue to enjoy the benefits of this system."
There are currently more than 25,000 users registered and, since the service began in 2015, a total of 2,129,879 uses have been made.
The most used benches, both as origin and destination, are the Regional Library, the Plaza de Castilla and the Plaza de la Merced, being the time slots in which the system is most used at 14 hours, 20 hours and 19 hours.
The Councilor for Sustainable Mobility has indicated that "using this system as public transport allows you to acquire more beneficial travel habits for health, reduce the space needed to travel and traffic jams, reduce energy consumption, reduce economic costs and time spent on urban displacements, and eliminate the stress generated by motorized traffic. "
