The City Council invests almost 1.3 million euros in the improvement of ten parks and gardens of the districts with the 'Renace Plan' (12/02/2020)

Aljucer, Patiño, El Palmar, Torreagüera, Sangonera La Verde, Cabezo de Torres, Guadalupe, Puente Tocinos, Espinardo and Santiago and Zaraiche are the locations in which it will operate.

The Councilor for Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration, José Guillén, together with the Councilor for Pedanías y Barrios, Marco Antonio Fernández, presented this morning the 'Renace Plan' in the Noble Room of the Moneo building, which involves the renovation of ten parks and gardens located in different Murcia districts, a project to which the City Council will allocate more than 1,295,000 million euros.

"The 'Renace Plan' involves the development of ten gardens in the districts of Murcia, located in Sangonera La Verde, Cabezo de Torres, Aljucer, Guadalupe, Puente Tocinos, Torreagüera, Espinardo, Santiago and Zaraiche, Patiño and El Palmar" , said José Guillén, who added that "improving the quality of life of the residents of Murcia and its districts is a priority for the City of Murcia."

“In Murcia we are immersed in a process of transformation of our green areas and children's play areas;

a sector in which we are a national reference and for which in April we will host the National Congress of Parks and Public Gardens 2020 â€, said José Guillén.

Likewise, the Councilor for Urban Development added that "this plan prioritizes the main gardens of the districts, centers of coexistence and social gathering, benefiting the more than 120,000 residents of these ten towns of Murcia."

The 'Renace Plan' includes the improvement of various parks and gardens through the remodeling of the pavement, the planting of new trees and shrubs, the renovation of children's areas, the expansion of residential areas, as well as the construction of sports areas.

As for the duration of the works, work has already begun in six districts (Cabezo de Torres, Guadalupe, Puente Tocinos, Torreagüera, Patiño and El Palmar) and soon the performances will begin in the other four (Espinardo, Aljucer, Sangonera La Verde and Santiago and Zaraiche).

It is planned that all projects will be completed by next summer.

For his part, the municipal head of Pedanías emphasizes that this investment is another example of the town hall for the municipality's structuring.

“The gardens are neighboring meeting, leisure and enjoyment points, so these actions unite people and project us towards the future of a modern and sustainable municipality,†said Marco Antonio Fernández.

This project is aligned with the 'Forest Plan', since it involves the creation and improvement of green spaces, and with the Murcia Smart City municipal strategy, since irrigation systems will be modernized.

Renace Plan

The Renace Plan converts parks and gardens into living spaces, neighborhood meeting and participation points, with the expansion of sports areas for the practice of exercise, more accessible and leisure spaces with all security measures and modern elements for More smalls.

The project contributes to the improvement of the environment with the incorporation of new trees, in addition to the efficiency of water resources making water as the main element.

Murcia, headquarters of gardening 2020

The implementation of the Renace Plan coincides with the celebration this year of the National Congress of Parks and Public Gardens (PARJAP 2020), which will make Murcia the headquarters of the gardening.

The Víctor Villegas Regional Auditorium will host this meeting on April 22, 23 and 24 with more than 400 experts in this field and 5,000 visitors.

“Murcia is a city with a project, where we are developing live transformation initiatives, promoting environmental and urban regeneration, valuing our heritage and promoting the regeneration of the Segura River, through strategic projects such as Murcia Río, the 2023 Pool Objective or the Plan Foresta 2030, among others, â€said José Guillén.

Tirocosa Park, in Espinardo

The landscaping and greening of the Tirocosa park will not be carried out randomly, but varieties of shrub species and drought-resistant trees will be used, increasing the park's biodiversity, on an area of ​​4,700 square meters.

It will also create a new route of 300 square meters, a new path for walking.

Likewise, the irrigation system will be modernized, which will contribute the necessary amount of water to each type of plant, reducing energy resources.

In addition, a new children's area of ​​660 square meters will be created, with games completely naturalized and integrated into the environment.

Specifically, the budget for the Tirocosa park is 197,990 euros.

Montegrande, in Torreagüera

The yucas will have special prominence in Montegrande, since the environment in which they are located will be renewed, acting on an area of ​​318 square meters.

Also, the curbs and the irrigation system will be renewed, which will become drip in shrubland area.

In addition, works will be carried out to avoid runoff and drag problems in the garden.

Montegrande Square will have new benches and residential areas and new agility elements for dogs will also be incorporated in this environment.

The budget for this park is 124,431 euros.

Tomás y Valiente, in Puente Tocinos

The lateral circular beds will be enhanced with shrub plantation that improve their appearance and the biodiversity of the park.

In addition, the central pergola will be landscaped and renovated, planting climbing species around it with the aim of creating new shady areas.

For its part, children's games, which are currently distributed throughout the park, will be located in the same location, creating a common area for children, where a new pavement will be incorporated.

The theme of the new games will be based on a great anthill.

Also, the sporting elements, distributed throughout the park, will meet in the same location, where a new artificial turf pavement will be installed.

This space will feature pin pong tables, among other new elements, encouraging outdoor activities.

With this action, Tomás y Valiente Park will be zoned, taking advantage of its structure, in three zones according to its use: sports area, living area and children's play area.

The budget allocated to this garden amounts to 125,401 euros.

La Libertad Park, in Guadalupe

Another of the actions highlighted in this environment is the provision of new banks in the central area with slate finishes, which will function as an artistic element, and the renovation of the pavement.

Also, the petanque tracks and the irrigation system will be renewed.

New shrub units will also be planted in an area of ​​1,200 square meters and 155 new trees will be planted.

The budget for this park is 159,494 euros.

Virgin Park of Los Dolores, in Aljucer

This large green area will feature new wooden sunbeds that will be characterized by curved spaces in which to sit and rest.

The park will also have picnic tables.

In addition, the current concrete route of this park will be conditioned, improving its appearance and accessibility, in an area of ​​892 square meters.

The irrigation system, whose scope of action is 3,100 square meters, will be modernized and will be controlled by satellite.

Also, new sports games will be placed to perform exercises such as calisthenics, along with the current sports elements, giving rise to a large biosaludable area.

In addition, perimeter benches will be installed to protect the park and sports courts will be restored.

New landscaped areas will also be created, an action that will be carried out in an area of ​​250 square meters.

The budget for the actions of this park is 94,107 euros.

Constitution Park, in Cabezo de Torres

Also, the current area of ​​roses will be restored, giving rise to a Mediterranean garden, which can be seen from a new landscaped gazebo, from a wooden platform of 25 square meters.

As a whole, the grass beds of the park will be renewed, acting in an area of ​​1,200 square meters, and the surface of the petanque track of this park.

The children's play area will also be modernized with the installation of a customized topographic infrastructure, which will combine slides and tubes, among other elements for the little ones.

The sports area will be renovated and the pavement will be replaced by a more suitable one and with a marking area for sports use.

Specifically, the City Council will allocate a budget of 150,814 euros to the actions of the Constitution Park.

The Manor, Sangonera La Verde

The Manor will feature a sculpture, with a new space for relaxation, with lounge chairs.

Likewise, the children's play area will be expanded, which will have a continuous rubber surface and a canine recreation area, of 300 square meters, will be enabled in the side area of ​​the park, with 'agility' pieces for dogs.

Likewise, a new calisthenics circuit, outdoor gym equipment will be installed and the irrigation system will be modernized adapting the specific times for each type of plant and soil.

The budget for the renovation of this park is 77,287 euros.

La Paz Park, in El Palmar

This environment will undergo a substantial improvement with the placement of new green elements, the increase of play areas and the creation of tall planters that will separate the traffic lane from the children's play areas and from the park's walk zones.

In this environment the parterre of the northern area will be renewed, in an area of ​​1,274 square meters, as well as the pavement, in an area of ​​1,060 square meters, and the surrounding vegetation, giving rise to new interior roads.

Also, existing playgrounds will be expanded, which will have an area of ​​135 square meters and new rest areas will be created.

This proposal contemplates the planting of new species and variety to increase the biodiversity and shaded space of the park.

The budget allocated to these actions is 141.605 euros.

Maestro Ibarra, in Patiño

Maestro Ibarra Park will feature a new basketball court, an outdoor gym, new residential beds distributed throughout the park and a circular 400-meter walk or walk around the garden, thus becoming a green area of reference to practice outdoor sport of more than 5,300 square meters.

Specifically, the Ibarra Master Garden will feature a basketball court, where a goal will also be inhabited, an outdoor gym, with balance bridges and metal bars at different levels, which will also be enabled for crossfit and calisthenics.

Likewise, an ornamental fountain will be enabled, the irrigation system will be modernized and the pavement will be renewed, acting on an area of ​​about 4,000 square meters.

The budget for the performance in this garden is 84,237 euros.

Antonio M. Guirao Park, in Santiago and Zaraiche

The family park located on the Antonio M. Guirao road, in the hamlet of Santiago and Zaraiche, will have new rooms to rest, as well as new trees to generate more shade spaces, increasing the number of units.

Likewise, the irrigation system will be modernized and the pavements will be renewed, applying a compact layer on an area of ​​6,000 square meters.

The creation of new plant pergolas is also planned, expanding the shadow spaces of the environment, among other actions.

The budget for the renovation of this park amounts to 140,310 euros.
