The City Council has begun with the remodeling works of this emblematic park of the Murcian district, as well as the recovery works of the source of said space.
The project also includes a large urban graffiti in the area near the amphitheater replacing the large square with colorful artistic geometric elements.
"The neighbors will have a completely renovated space, with large and modern areas, but also full of vegetation, since the incorporation of trees and shrub species is a way to contribute to the improvement of citizens' lives and the environment" , highlights the councilor.
The Councilor for Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration, José Guillén, has visited today the remodeling works of the Parque de la Libertad de la Pedería.
The neighbors will have new sports areas in which elements necessary for the practice of physical exercise will be incorporated.
The tracks will be renewed with paint and signage work.
The little ones will also enjoy a completely remodeled children's play area in a few months.
New pieces of different sizes will be added, making this space an accessible place for children of different ages.
Another novelty of this emblematic garden will be the expansion of the barbecue and picnic area.
In that way, the works contemplate the creation of a neighborhood meeting space, surrounded by greenery and picnic tables.
The main axis of the park will be the central area thanks to the incorporation of new elements, as well as modern slate benches that will bring personality to the enclosure while serving as a play piece for boys and girls.
The project, carried out by STV-Actúa, also includes a large urban graffiti in the area near the amphitheater replacing the large square with colorful artistic geometric elements.
The plant spaces will also be expanded and will house the plantation of new trees and shrubs and flowers.
For which it will be necessary to implement an efficient and more modern irrigation system to supply the entire garden.
Source Recovery
In addition to the park, the City Council is also carrying out the recovery of the source of the garden.
The actions in this installation consist of the integral remodeling of the vessel, thus improving its aesthetic finish, the installation of new pumping equipment, as well as the placement of an LED lighting system in order to value this source also at night.
The works that are being carried out in Guadalupe, both for the remodeling of the park and the fountain, have a total budget of 175,000 euros, VAT included.

Other actions that are going to be carried out in the hamlet are the planting of new trees, through the Forest Plan, the renovation of gerontogimnasia elements, the incorporation of shade, as in the Reina Sofía park or the garden of Constanza street , the construction of new areas of canine recreation and the maintenance of the green spaces of the district.
