Serafín Zubiri presents his musical show "Remembering Nino Bravo" in Murcia (10/02/2020)

The Councilor for Culture and Heritage Recovery, Jesús Pacheco, presented with Serafín Zubiri the musical show 'Remembering Nino Bravo', which has traveled more than 100 locations in Spain.

In this concert the most emblematic themes of the disappeared Nino Bravo are recreated with the particularity that the musical base is performed by the local music band in which the concert is performed, in this case Las Musas de Guadalupe.

The show is structured in three blocks in which a chronological tour is made through the best known songs of the five albums that were released by Nino Bravo.

Between each block, the band performs an instrumental song and images of the most important moments of the career of one of the best Spanish artists are projected.

"This show aims to create an exciting climate, because thanks to it you can listen live songs like 'I love you, I love you', 'Noelia', 'A Kiss and A Flower', 'America, America', ' Free ', among others, with the accompaniment of the band, "said the councilor.

Tickets, which can be purchased at the box office and on the Romea Theater website, to attend the concert range between 10 and 20 euros.

The life of Serafín Zubiri has been starring the overcoming through music and sports.

His birth blindness has not prevented him from moving forward his career as an artist in which he has released 8 albums and forge a great sports curriculum.

In 1992 he was chosen to represent Spain at the Eurovision Festival with the song 'All this is music'.

In Christmas of that same year he interpreted the central theme of the soundtrack of the Disney film Beauty and the Beast, thanks to which he obtained an important popular impact.

In 1999 he worked on the musical show 'The Magic of Broadway', in which the well-known singer Marta Sánchez also participated.

In the year 2000 he represented Spain for the second time at the Eurovision Festival with the song 'Hanging from a dream', being selected by popular vote.

In September 2007 he began his participation in the sixth edition of the TVE program 'Look Who Dances!', Being the first blind contestant in the world who showed his skills for dancing in a program of these characteristics.

In 2012 he published his eighth album entitled 'X a just cause', dedicating each of the songs to a different social problem.

In this work he wanted to be actively involved with a series of social causes with which he feels especially sensitized.

The following year he participated in the television show 'Splash Famous to Water', Antena 3. In this format the celebrities had to show their skills to make jumps to the water from platforms at different heights.

As for sports, he has made incursions in different disciplines, such as scuba diving, parachuting, paragliding, bungee jumping, among others.

However, the activities that stand out in his sporting experience are athletics, mountaineering, tandem cycling and speed skating.

In them he has reaped his most important sporting successes.

The Musicians-Cultural Association Las Musas de Guadalupe created in 1984 its School of Music in order to create a band that could make green the splendid band tradition of this district of Murcia.

In 1988 he performed his first concert in the field, under the baton of the director and founding member Jaime González Grao, collaborating musician of the National Orchestra of Spain.

The Guadalupe band is made up of 60 musicians, mostly teenagers and young people.

Its components are formed in the School of Music of the Association and carry out studies at the Conservatory of Music of Murcia.

The band has participated in numerous editions of the National Contest of Bands City of Murcia, obtaining many awards.

He regularly participates in the Campaign for the Dissemination of the Music of the Autonomous Community, in the concert cycles of the City of Murcia and in the most important Festival of Bands in the Region.

It also parades in the most outstanding processions of Murcia Holy Week.

The protagonist of this show, Nino Bravo, was born in Valencia in 1944, and is the Spanish singer considered, as the best voice of the national pop of the 60s. His style conquered the public, not only because of the high quality of his repertoire, but also by his prodigious voice.

Nino Bravo admired Luis Mariano and Tom Jones.

At age 17 he was part of the Los Hispánico trio, and then joined the Los Súperson group, with whom he began to perform frequently at parties and summer venues in the Valencian Community.

On March 16, 1969 he made his presentation at the Teatro Principal in Valencia with a repertoire in which versions of the hits of the moment stood out, based on songs by Tom Jones, Engelbert Humperdink and John Rowles.

The good reviews received led him to sign a contract with the Fonogram label.

The debut single contained two songs by author Manuel Alejandro ('Como todos' and 'Es el viento'), although the success came in the summer of 1970, with the theme 'I love you, I love you', by Rafael de León y Augusto Algueró.

It was his first number one sales in Spain and one of the most popular songs of the year throughout South America.

The success continued with 'Noelia', and its presence began to be habitual in programs and festivals like the one of Rio de Janeiro or Athens.

After the release of his first album in 1970, his popularity grew imposingly.

In 1972 he began collaborating with the team of authors formed by Pablo Herrero and José Luis Armenteros, who provided him with two new hits, 'A kiss and a flower' and 'Free'.

Just at the moment when Nino Bravo reached maturity as an artist, a traffic accident ended his life in April 1973. His sudden death made him a myth.

His song 'América, América' reached number one again after his death and subsequent reissues of his recordings have kept his memory alive.
