"We are very afraid that the Infant School of Algezares will suffer the same fate as that of La Paz for the lack of diligence and transparency" (07/02/2020)

"We have taken this issue three times to the Plenary, trying to be positive and conciliatory, so we do not understand the refusal of the councilor to face the neighbors who were the ones who created the San Roque School," says the mayor

After detecting the first problems in April of last year, the recently appointed Councilor for Education and Infant Schools repeatedly committed to involve parents, mothers and staff of the San Roque de Algezares center, which was transferred last summer to the former's premises El Lugarico school in El Palmar.

After six months and three full sessions, the only contact will be to summon fathers and mothers of babies from 0 to 1 year to a meeting in the Department itself.

Therefore, the socialist councilor Antonio Benito shows his total outrage at what he recognizes as "disastrous management" and declares: "We have taken this issue three times to the Plenary, trying to be positive and conciliatory, but we see with concern that the councilor does not know what they are diligence or transparency. He has accused us of indoctrinating the citizenry when the one who has not stepped on the town for six months is her. Neighbors and neighbors of Algezares are logically worried because they see that everything is being done in offices of the Department and in small groups".

The socialist mayor does not understand the refusal of the councilor to face the neighbors and propose a provisional solution in addition to future plans.

"The School of San Roque was created by the neighbors. Although later it was attached to the municipal service, it is theirs. We understand that the residents of Algezares observe, logically concerned, how the promise of finding a provisional solution vanishes, while the Definitive solution could easily be delayed a decade, "says Benito, who adds:" How will citizens trust us if they are not offered more than opacity and lies? "

After his commitment to fathers and mothers, the councilor has requested through official channels all the documentation on this matter and on the other "black spot" of our network of municipal nursery schools, that of Beniaján.

"From the Municipal Socialist Group we fear that this policy, cold and far from the citizenship, which the councilor practices, is due to the fact that the decision was made months ago: neither provisional solution in Algezares, nor medium-term solution, as the option that seems to be on the table is to wait for the health center to be built and to operate before we can undertake the work. We would be facing a new case such as that of the La Paz Children's School, "he says.

Against this background, the Socialist Group in the City of Murcia will request that they be the leaders of the government groups, José Ballesta and Mario Gómez, who take the initiative, remove the councilor from the management of this matter and lead a plan of exciting future for the neighbors of Algezares.

"We ask the mayor of Murcia to leave his Instagram account for a day, roll up his sleeves and face the residents of Algezares. It would be a respectful gesture, which is the least they deserve," concludes Antonio Benito.
