The five municipal auditoriums schedule a hundred events for the next few months (06/02/2020)

The five municipal auditoriums will offer a total of 94 events for this winter and spring season.

Of these, 86 will be represented by Murcia entities, which represents more than 90% of the programming, a significant fact that clearly shows the commitment of the Municipal Auditorium project with the Murcian scene.

The Councilor for Culture and Heritage Recovery, Jesús Pacheco, explained that “the network of Municipal Auditoriums, located in the districts of La Alberca, Algezares, Beniaján, Cabezo de Torres and Guadalupe, makes available to the public more than 1,400 seats from those who can enjoy a wide and varied programming aimed at different sectors of the population.

As they are very versatile spaces, they are the ideal receptacle for small and medium-sized performing arts, recordings of various kinds, film screenings… ”

In this way, an offer of artistic activities is proposed that covers different artistic genres such as theater, dance, humor, family shows, music ... In addition, it is intended to reach all sectors of the public, with shows ranging from babies to adults, passing through families, young people ...

This year the scenic spaces of the City of Murcia are in the Professional Circuit of Performing Arts and Music of the Region of Murcia which implies an important collaboration of the ICA and the CARM that allows the Auditoriums to offer productions of formats and prices that, without This collaboration would not be possible.

The musical activities occupy a very prominent place in the programming of the Auditoriums, with more than 25% of the total.

You can enjoy the most varied musical shows such as folklore, root music, classical, lyric, zarzuela, jazz, choral music, pop ...

These activities include the Concert Cycle of the Conservatory of Music of Murcia, in which different formations of the Conservatory will go through the Auditoriums with recitals of string orchestras, flutes, symphony orchestra, forum sax, metal orchestra, etc.

Also, in this program Municipal Auditoriums participates in the reborn Murcia Jazz Festival along with the Municipal Theaters including other events such as the celebration of International Jazz Day, tributes to great authors, etc.

The relationship of the Municipal Auditoriums with the Music Bands is old and narrow, since the Banda de Cabezo de Torres, that of Beniaján and Las Musas de Guadalupe carry out their activities in these spaces.

Thus, programming of various festivals and concerts will be offered.

On the other hand, the theater represents more than 30% of the programming, offering assemblies for all tastes with companies such as Delivery Theater, Cabaret Zoo, Viridiana, Silfo Theater, Double K Theater, Vita Brevis Productions, Mechanical Dream ...

Attendees will be able to watch comedies such as' La tonta del bote 'and' Spanish Bizarro ', a theater committed as' The house behind', 'Ronem Ram', 'Ella', classical theater and great authors with productions such as' The horns of Don Friolera 'and experimental theater as' Theater Forum', 'Internal Affairs', or' The Imhotep Project '.

In addition to the programming, the II EnClave Mujer Festival can be highlighted, in which the situation of the performing arts in the Murcian landscape is approached but from a gender perspective.

The objective is to transcend the most common concept we have of women in the performing arts with activities that address not only their acting function and feminine content, but also the direction, production, dramaturgy, etc.

With this idea, the cycle will be closed with a round table that offers an overview of the situation of women in the performing arts and that addresses the different professions in this field and a workshop taught by Rosa Merás and Silvia Pereira of the Violet Territory on the analysis of a theatrical production from a gender perspective.

In addition, the I Cycle of Microteatro in Municipal Auditoriums will be celebrated, a simple and adaptable formula that manages to take the theater to unconventional scenic spaces.

These works are made for a maximum of 50 spectators that are located around the scene.

In order to bring the youngest to the artistic scene, a wide repertoire of children's and family activities is included in the program.

This season you can enjoy shows recommended for all age groups of children, from babies to 12 years.

This is how the stories stand out with characters that go on stage and come directly from the children's imaginary such as 'Vuela Pluma', 'The moon in the garden' and 'Cloud Cloud', classic titles such as 'The Pied Piper', 'Little Red Riding Hood' and 'Cinderella', classics like 'Romeo and Juliet', dance like 'The life of the salmon' and 'Coppelia', and stories of deep social content like 'On the road'.

In addition, different dance genres have a place this season in programming with flamenco shows, contemporary dance, folklore ...

Within the dance program, the IV Spanish Dance Cycle stands out, which consolidates a path started three seasons ago with which it is intended to offer quality dance with a format and price accessible to the citizens of the municipality.

The cycle has five dance shows ranging from figures such as bailaora Mónica Iglesias, winner of the Desplante trophy at the Cante de las Minas Contest to the most contemporary flamenco of the Mucha Chica con Volume I.

This cycle has the artistic direction of Angel Manarre and is complemented by five masterclass and colloquiums, in charge of the protagonists of the different representations that will take place in each of the Auditoriums.

Other activities that will pass this season through the Municipal Auditoriums magic shows, circus, chirigotas contests, various galas, etc.

Collaborations with entities and associations

Another line of work of the auditoriums are collaborations, those activities that respond to the objective of collaboration with different entities, associations and groups and the promotion of local events.

In this line of work, activities such as:

.

Concerts of the Conservatory of Music of Murcia.

.

Chirigotas contests.

.

Concerts, meetings and festivals of music bands.

.

End of course samples of the workshops of different cultural centers.

.

Festivals and other events of Peńas Huertanas.

.

Specialized training, assignments and residences

In order to offer users a more complete and enriching experience in their relationship with the performing arts, a small plot is dedicated to specialized training within the Municipal Auditorium project.

In this sense, this season we will have the masterclass cycle of the IV Spanish Dance Cycle and a theatrical analysis workshop from a gender perspective.

The residences is a line of work that involves actions to boost artistic production, especially oriented to the scenic projects of the Municipality of Murcia.

With the completion of a residence, a company's access to the requested auditorium is facilitated to resume, update, or complete the completion of its scenic project.

In exchange for facilitating the rehearsal space, the infrastructure of the room with its technical staff, the company that has been able to save the rental and infrastructure expenses, will premiere the work in the Auditorium, or develop any type of activity in interaction with the local community and / or any other agreement agreed between the parties.

In addition to these, there are collaborations / residences that respond to a different nature, in this case we refer to those collaborations in the form of residence that have a marked educational character and that are developed with secondary schools mainly.

Another service offered by Municipal Auditoriums is the transfer of equipment.

These activities are subject to an operating protocol and conform to the municipal regulations published on the web.

Most of these activities are related to educational centers, other municipal services, local associations and private entities.

Prices and purchase of tickets

In general, tickets for shows for adults cost 4 euros and for children 3 euros, although there are also free with invitation.

The sale at the box office will be held two hours before each show at the box office of each Auditorium.

2019 year data

During 2019, the Municipal Auditoriums offered a total of 397 events, of which 174 correspond to the programming of these spaces and 223 correspond to assignments of space for the organization of activities by other entities.

A total of 73,067 spectators participated in the activities of the Municipal Auditoriums during the year 2019. Of this figure, the assistance was distributed in 41,264 spectators in assignments of the 5 Auditorium spaces and 31,803 in own activities.

This represents a percentage of the public of more than 56% in uses made by entities other than the service of culture or outside the City of Murcia.

Undoubtedly, these figures clearly speak of the vocation of citizen service that these spaces have and the close established and consolidated relationship between the Municipal Auditoriums of the City of Murcia and the population of the municipality that considers these spaces as its own and available resource .
